Hi,
I think that the proposed new IIMs in new location will actually lead to the dilution of the brand equity, as it happened with the IITs. What's ur take on it?

definately u can see some decrease in brand of students/////

yes quality will depend up on limited quantity of seats...........in seats increase it will become some probs..

in past we have seen that in we incease no of institutes, quality has reduced........

no of seats become double so students of lower rank will take admission..........

it is the point that no of students becomes incresing rappidly and jobs r less....so it's not good time to open these IIM's.........

even the same prob with IIT also....the quality of students will decrease........

surely its gonna affect the quality as the no of quality profs are limtied...u can c da case of incresing no of iit's..seats are vacant...can u imagine? its better to have quality rather than quantity...Moreover there can jus be one HARVARD or STANFORD!!

Hello everyone,
As per my views the new emergence of iim's could dilute the brand equity but this may result in a positive way if the eligibility rules are made strict, this will not only provide more oppurtunity to one's who deserve but also will improve the brand equity of the iim's.....

As per me the new 7New IIMs will not dilute the brand image in any sense..

The new IIMs would be of the same standard. The infrastructure and faculties would be of same standard in the new ones

It is just a move to boost the importance of higher education in India.

IIMs are considered the best B-schools in the country and are a major brand name in the global management education...hence its just to expand this legacy;)

The only problem that these new IIMs will face is the dearth of faculty. India has enough brilliant students to easily fill up the new IIMs being created. But does it have enough infrastructure, enough faculties to guide these brilliant minds ? I doubt it.

i totly agree wid u
and those point

s it will b diluted, shud not expand its base outsd the country, first the country needs to b served by generating more global managers than making iim an international brand

i dont really think that the new IIM"s will dilute the brand equity if the same quality of education is given if the cuttoff's n level of students is maintained then no i dont think it will take place infact it might be positive n potential students will hv more seats.i think we guys need to really get a positive attitude high time guys.

Yes the standard should be maintained in new IIMs. But we cant do anything with average students getting admitted.
