Are Indians safe overseas

I'm sure all of us remember about the firing that took place in the Virginia University in the US. A number if students including a lot of Indians were killed.

In Australia, an Indian student who was a part time taxi driver was shot by a passenger. Recently, in America a Sikh student's turban was set afire. What does all of this tell us? Why are mostly Indians the target of such incidents abroad? After some days of thinking, I think I've found the answer.

I think it is the lack of concern of the government that has led Indians to become such easy targets in the west. We are not bothered about the Indians, especially the Indian students who are study and work abroad. If we don't have any value for an Indian's life whether he is in the country or not, nobody will have that.

If we don't take an initiative to look into the safety of Indians students abroad then we can open the newspaper everyday to find more Indian students murdered. I am a 14-year-old girl who has plans to study abroad. Therefore I hope the government will understand the seriousness of the issue and act before it's too late.

Indians are not safe in certain countries where they are being racially abused. But in many other countries Indians are being repected.

We must ask the same q to ourselves. Is India safe for Foreigners?I'm not trying to justify the attacks on Indians in foreign land but we must also look at our mother country before pointing fingers.I would like to remind the incidents happened and still happening in Goa beaches for which we have case hanging before the court.Even we are hearing news about foreigner molestation everyday. But atleast we are not doing any racist attacks but any attack on foreigners is bad for the country.

Indians are one of the few people who're spread all over the world. Safety is just dependent on socio-economical factor of the person in foreign land. We'd never see such a thing with A Laxmi Mittal or Madhu Sapre or Ambani's or SRK's for that matter. In every country people see the low-income group as vulnerable targets thats all. Add to that we also need good embassies to help us out in such cases which seems negative in these cases. (India's got an attitude - Forget It : read Jaane do yaaron)

The rest of the world is jealous of Indians as Indians r taking all the top positions.....and after the Job loss in the western parts , they r being replaced by better qualified ppl....and Indian r i guess the rite candidate for the same..

Australia and European nations have a long history of racial hatred towards foreigners . So learn the ground reality before moving to any nation .
Discrimination is sadly everywhere and we have to learn to live with it , adopting safety strategies and not sneaking around making ourselves vulnerable .
