ArcelorMittal to expand steel capacity in Brazil

Sao Paulo: Steel major, ArcelorMittal SA has outlined an investment of Reais 352 million to resume expansion of steel capacity in Brazil. The project to be resumed within this month will be executed in two phases.

The first phase of the project involves expansion of two mills and will see an installation of new rolling mill. The second phase on the other hand, is contingent on the market demand.

The company had shelved its Brazil expansion plans since 2011. In total the steel major will invest about US$ 400 million in the Americas within this year.
