Hello all,

I am 35 yrs old living in Singapore.I plan to start my MBA in September 2008. I will be doing my MBA if and only if i get admission in INSEAD. Wanted to know if i am too old for doing MBA.

Are there other guys who do MBA when they are 35 yrs old. Saw the INSEAD MBA booklet it mentions % of students above 31 yrs is 18. Not sure how many of them are near 35.

It would be of great help if any of you would help clear this doubt.

Rajesh

AGE IS NOT A DECIDING CRITERIA FOR STUDIES. ITS YOU WILL WILL POWER WHICH NEEDS TO BE STRONG FOR COMMITTING YOU SELF FOR MBA. SO FAR AS YOUR AGE IS JUST 35, WHERE AS THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO EVEN STARTS STUDYING AFTER 40-45. AT PRESENT IN MY CLAS THERE ARE 5-6 PERSONS WHO ARE ABOVE 35. SO DO NOT HESITATE AND JUST START PREPARING YOUR SELF.

INSEAD is a great institute to be at. There are a lot of corporates who take up an mba course to keep abread with the dynamic business environment. Its never too late. If not now, then when ?? :)

Thank you all for the replies. I am a software engineer with 10 yrs expereince presently working in a MNC in singapore. Over the years I have understood that my liking and interest are more towards Finance and that is the reason I want to do an MBA to forray into Finance sector. Wanted to ask that after doing the MBA will there be job opportunities for a person of my age in Finance. Or is it that only Guys around 30 yrs are preferred by these industries.

Thanks once again.

Rajesh

I am 37 thinking of an MBA from a top 10 institute --ITs all in the mind how young you are .Age is just a number that never goes down . You should be willing to work hard coz u will be a bit rusty in academics for eg u may be using a calculator most entrance exams dont allow a calculator small inconveninces like these matter .With a fighting spirit the battle can be half won even before it begins

Rajesh, If you are in Singapore, why don't you just drop in INSEAD campus , take orientation, talk to the students and post your experience in the same thread. Your first hand info will be of use for us as well.
