Ahvan-2011, IIM Indore’s three day annual management fest is fully geared up to kick off on Nov 18 as it would be formally launched by the director Dr N Ravichandran on Friday at 9 AM. The fest will mark the beginning of the much awaited campus festival with a recorded footfall of over 6000, and a total participation going up to 10000 students across B-Schools. The fest is widely known for conceptualizing the famous flagship events like Ashwamedha, Kalpavriksha, Chanakya and Klueless among others.
Apart from the group and individual events, Ahvan will be hosting guest talk series spread over the three days comprising of dignitaries from various spheres of management including Sreekanth A, VP of Britannia, Anshu Gupta , founder of Goonj, Anupama Jha, Executive Director of Transparency International.
Coming to the events, this year Ashwamedha is focused on identifying the Best Manager to the Best Leader who acts on Nation Building. Ashwamedha had opened participation to excellent non-management institutes like NIFT, NID and Delhi School of Economics.
Kalpavriksha, the annual social business challenge is held across two categories – the student business plan and the social enterprise challenge. This year the event has pushed Ahvan to a global level as participation extended from various B-Schools across the world thus having a finalist from Harvard University. The winners will be decided on criteria that look at the extent of impact on society, marketing plan, financial feasibility and sustainability.
Chanakya, the consulting event of Ahvan’11 has gathered the maximum participation across all the offline events with more than 700 teams from ISB, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow and XLRI amongst others formed a major chunk. The top 6 teams would fight it out in the campus.
Klueless 7, right from the day of its launch – 11/11/11, 11 AM, has astounded the fest by having a record number of visits extending to more than 30000 across India. Being an open for all event with more than 30 levels of complex problem scenarios, the event has witnessed participation from students belonging to even IITs, NITs and other non-managerial backgrounds. Currently Klueless7 has 190 participants reaching the Hall of Fame.
Apart from the seriously engaging events, Ahvan-2011 is gearing up for the famous Vipul Goyal, the stand-up comedian to perform on Nov 18th at 9 PM.
The stage is all set for the biggest event in central India.
