EPC News: (20 June, 2013) Mumbai : Adani Power has commenced operations at the third unit of its Tiroda plant in Maharashtra , involving a capacity of 660 MW. Through the recent initiative the company has escalated its total generation capacity to about 7,260 MW.
The company is currently setting up a 3,300 MW plant at Tiroda, involving five units of 660 MW, hwerein the first two units in the last fiscal ended March. Additionally, Adani Power also aims to register the first two units at Tiroda for clean development mechanism (CDM) as per the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Commenting on the company’s future growth estimates, Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group said, “I am confident that Adani Power will emerge as India’s largest private thermal power producer and can achieve a capacity of about 10,000 MW March next year. The company aims to generate 20,000 MW by 2020.”
