Academic qualifications are commonly felt to give a person the best chance of success in life. How far is this true?

i think its true in indian context....u are no one without certificates...

If I read your question correctly - "Commonly felt" ...I would definitely agree to that. Every parents want their kid to top the class,get a job & settle in life.To do all this academic qualification is the easiest and the safest way.
