Often presentation mistakes can sen the audience running for the doors. One should take care that the following mistakes do not occur :-

1) Mistake no 1 :- You dont know the topic
You just memorize the content and when someone asks any question, you start to panic. The reason for this being you only that part of content which is written on slides.

Precaution :- Know your content well. Use phrases or key words to keep the audience live. At the same time, be prepared for questions and know the answers.

2) Mistake no 2 :- Over Information
Sometimes you may too much about the topic, that you want to present everything you know.

Precaution :- Keep it short an simple. Stick to maximum 3 or 4 points an then expand them.

3) Mistake no 3 :- photos and graphs
If you put too many photos and graphs for your presentation, it gives an audience a clear picture that you dint o much research on your presentations.

Precaution :- Use photos, charts and graphs only to emphasize the key points of the presentations.

4) Mistake no. 4 :- Too many slides
Some believe putting too many slides can make the presentation the best. But the fact is, it becomes boring for the audience.

Precaution :- Keep the number of slides to the minimum. 10 to 20 should be maximum.

5) Mistake no 5 :- Hardware Malfunctions
It happens many times, you are just about to start your project and your projector doesn't work. The reason might be you dint check this earlier.

Precaution :- Check all the equipment and rehearse your presentation, using the projector long before your time to present.

6) Mistake no 6 :- Different animations and sounds
You may think using different animations and sounds will impress the audience.

Precaution :- Animations and sounds can entertain the audience but dont use too much of it. 'Less is more' philosophy can be used. Dont make your presentations with loads of animations

7) Mistake no 7:- The slide is not your presentation
People often make mistakes by reading the whole presentations watching slides. Reading even the audience can do, then what are you for??

Precaution :- "Speak to the audience and not to the screen. The slide show should only be used as an accompaniment to your talk. Keep the important points on the slide only.

ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!

We all say about the bad presentation. Are there really any bad presentations or just bad presenters? It also depend upon how we manage our stress, sometimes even if our slides are perfect our presentation fails it can be due to lack of confidence....if u want to make a good presentation you may try the things below:
*Take a deep breathe and start with a presentation as it will help you to be relax as sometime before presentation you tend to be nervous
*Take care of your gestures how you portray yourself in front of the audience.
*Be well prepared about your topic and if possible try to concentrate on audience rather than of just reading out the slides.
*Try to read it in front of a mirror to gain self confidence.
*If stuck anywhere take a little pause and can continue with your next point.
*If you tend to forget any point try to continue it by explaining in own words but don't try to recollect it as it may make you feel embarrassed or confusion......

8.Poor Font Choices
Small, script type fonts might look great when you are sitting 18 inches away from the monitor. You didn't consider the lady sitting 200 feet away from the screen who can't read them.

Stick to easy to read fonts such as Arial or Times New Roman. Avoid script type fonts which are hard to read on screen. Use no more than two different fonts – one for headings, another for content and no less than a 30 pt font so that people at the back

even the colours and backgrounds used in the slides distract the audience from concentrating on the presentation.
even if u put all the content on the slide, nobody will listen to u instead they will happily read the ppt and leave it without concentrating on what u r presenting

I would also like to include in this, the importance of a good formal dressing sense, your interactivity with the audience and your self confidence . Without these 3 things, your presentation would be boring and unimpressive .
