A significant tremor has struck eastern Nepal, two weeks after more than 8,000 individuals were murdered in an overwhelming shake.

The most recent tremor hit close to the town of Namche Bazar, close Mount Everest.

The US Geological Survey said it had a size of 7.4. A tremor on 25 April, focused in western Nepal, had an extent of 7.8.

The most recent tremor was felt as far away as the Indian capital Delhi, and in addition Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Solid tremors were felt in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, which was gravely harmed in a month ago's tremor.

"This is a huge one," Prakash Shilpakar, the proprietor of an art shop in Kathmandu, told the Reuters news office.

Reports said individuals surged from structures in Kathmandu as the shudder struck at 12:35 nearby time (07:50 GMT).

The epicenter of the most recent tremor was 83km (52 miles) east of Kathmandu, in a country region near to the Chinese fringe.

It struck at a profundity of 18.5km (11.5 miles), as per the US Geological Survey.

The 25 April shake was 15km (9.3 miles) profound. Shallower seismic tremors are more inclined to bring about more harm at the surface.

The BBC's Yogita Limaye, who was with a guide escort in Nepal when the most recent seismic tremor struck, tweeted: "We're safe. Did feel the earth shake for very much quite a while. Saw clean and stones taking off mountain close by."

Tuesday's tremor is liable to be one of the biggest to hit Nepal, which has endured several consequential convulsions since 25 April.
