Glenn has extensive experience as an early stage executive and entrepreneur. He has
successfully spun technology out of research centers as well as developed the go-to-
market strategy, hired the team and executed the successful launch of three companies.
Glenn’s engineering background, analytical ability, strategic thinking and sales/marketing
experience provide a sound basis for evaluating technology, determining the go-to-market
requirements and assembling the team required to successfully launch a BlueVine
Company.
Glenn’s experience includes five early stage companies, four turnarounds and 3
acquisitions. He has provided executive leadership at both public and private companies.
Responsibilities have included CEO, President, COO, Divisional Vice President and Vice
President of Sales.
The entrepreneurial calling came early in Glenn’s career when he joined Oracle
Corporation, an $8 Million startup. The experience he gained over the next 5 years, as
Oracle grew to be a $250 Million company, was invaluable. It enabled him, as the first
Director of Sales and Marketing at Archsoft Group (ASG), to develop and execute the go-
to-market strategy that ultimately led the company to a successful exit strategy 3 years
later. As the first Vice President of Sales at Blue Pumpkin Software he developed the go-
to-market strategy, hired the team and led the efforts that resulted in worldwide
distribution and $10 M of revenue in the company’s first 18 months. As CEO and
President of BarterNet (a roll-up) he played a key role in developing and executing the
strategy that made BarterNet the industry leader in less than a year.
Glenn’s first experience at improving troubled companies came as the President of a
small manufacturing company (VMS). The experience he gained in rapidly assessing
people, processes and the effectiveness of sales teams later served him well at the
Enterprise Solutions Group of Egghead Software. There he changed the direction, culture
and focus, and dramatically improved the sales and profitability of first an $80 million
sales region and then a $400 million division.
Over the last ten years he has spun technology out of corporate research labs as well as
worked with early stage and mature companies with revenue issues. His involvement in 8
different industries, over his career, provides firsthand knowledge of the strengths and
weaknesses of many different business models and go-to-market strategies. This
experience will prove invaluable as BlueVine Ventures evaluates new technology,
assesses commercial viability and hires the teams to launch their investments.
Glenn began his career as a Project Engineer at Eaton Corporation after earning his
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University. While
working at Eaton he earned his Masters of Business Administration (Finance Major) from
Case Western Reserve.
