197th 1M/1M Roundtable For Entrepreneurs: Seed India Book Launch

During today’s roundtable, we launched the book Seed India: How To Navigate The Seed Capital Gap In India. The Indian seed eco-system, after improving somewhat for a few years, is stalling, if not regressing, currently. This book is a realistic, pragmatic look at the options entrepreneurs have in front of them. During the pitches, the topic came up over and again.

Thinvent Technologies

First up, Saurabh Jain from Gurgaon, India, pitched Thinvent Technologies, a small 20-person company that has been around since 2007. The company does various kinds of products like kiosks, digital displays, etc. Saurabh wants to raise money, but given the haphazard nature of his business, I don’t see this as a viable option right now. He needs to learn how to build a scalable business first, and significantly tighten his roadmap.

Kritter

Next, Arjun Som from Bangalore, India, pitched Kritter, a very interesting ad-tech venture focused on providing the entire ad server stack as a cloud service to ad agencies and other players in the market. Arjun, currently, is bootstrapping the company using services.

PatientDox

Last up, Luis Montes from Chicago, Illinois, pitched PatientDox, a cloud service for home healthcare and hospice agencies to manage their documents and insurance filing process to address their collections issues. I like the business opportunity. Product roadmap, business models, TAM, and team strategy need work, but a promising, real business opportunity.
