Hi!! I am priti. I hv gotta do a proj on "Promotional procedures and Policies" an HR topic. I wud lik to kno where 2 look 4 d info. pls gv suggestions. Lemme kno d sites where i can get d info. I am gonna refer Ashwathapa. Let me kno any other books dat i can refer. thnx cya
 
hi preets....please run a search on the required topic....and also note that practical experience will only be gained if you stay away from reference books.....try to relate to our daily life.....
 
Thnx!! Actually i did try searching on net for the info but i have gone mad filtering through the data.....and the worst part is i have not received anything useful......anyways i am going to continue my search....thankyou for the suggestion.

HEy Priti,

There is a site on HR....m nt sure about the Name something HR.com or something....Just google it & I guess you will get the site and a lot of info available. The other option is you can interview HR managers and get practical practices. You can take appointments make a questionaire and you will good stuff...May be compare 2 companies and give your ideas of improvement.


Or else if you dnt have any HR contacts you could talk to employees, like your friends and relatives and put that in your porject & end it by analysing the system and giving ur views.


If I find any info I will post the same here....

First, let me kno how do i add a new thread from my account.
Second, i have got a case study in hr, wherein i have to make a job specification.
It is for the post of district supervisor. There was a guy working at this post, but he left. Now the company does not have a job specification in place.
The job description goes as follows:
1) he has to ensure corporate standards of cleanliness, service, and product quality
2) Supervise store managers and evaluate their performance.
3) prepare monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and expense forecasts for the district.
4) Make cost savings suggestions to head office and/or store managers.
5) co ordinate buying
6) negotiate cooperative advertising programs with suppliers
7) participate in union negotiations

Can u give me any suggestions as to the job specifications???

Help will be really appreciated.

Now for Job specification:-

Well Job specification is a part of Job design. Job design is the whole proces of making a job specification. Various factors are taken into consideration like complexcity, nature, how much physical work required,etc etc. And job specification is its output.

Now you want just the job specification,(which is good, cause design would have being a littel tough 4 me) :p Here are some points that you can include:-
1) he has to ensure corporate standards of cleanliness, service, and product quality:- for this he has to have a qualification of quality control as all the 3 fall into this category. So 1st an MAsters of equivalent degree in Quality control with minimum experience of 5 yrs(thts cause its district supervisior).

2) Supervise store managers and evaluate their performance:- Experience in QM will help with that experience in evaluation. So 2nd pnt is Hr experience or worked in a managerial position before.

3)prepare monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and expense forecasts for the district. :- Degree or diploma holder in Financial management or equivalent course with atleast 3-5 yrs experience of preparing revenue. Good knowledge about the market, to have the capability of forcasing.

4) Make cost savings suggestions to head office and/or store managers. :- Knowledge about logistical systems of cost cutting etc.


5) co ordinate buying
6) negotiate cooperative advertising programs with suppliers:- marketing skills & experience in the feild of corporate marketing.

7) participate in union negotiations.:- experience in Participative management. Worked with trade unions before & helped them in negotiations of various issues.

Along with that always include knowing local language since distraict supervisior, knowlege about the district & good leadership skills.

Work ex : Min 5 yrs in psu.

special knowledge : Certified black belt TPQM course prefered.
