YSR Congress Leader Shobha Nagireddy Passes Away

YSR Congress party candidate B Shobha Nagi Reddy died due to accident injuries in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old YSR Congress MLA was thrown out of her car during an accident, after an election rally in Kurnool. Reddy’s car reportedly swerved and overturned, due to which she received grievous injuries in her head. She was rushed to a private hospital at Banjara Hills, where she died during treatment. Shobha Reddy, a sitting MLA, was contesting from the Allagadda Assembly seat in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. A medical bulletin issued by Care Hospital on Thursday said We are sad to inform Shobha Nagi Reddy, who was brought to Care Hospital on April 24 following a major road accident is no more. Two gun man and the vehicle driver, who was travelling along with Shobha had also suffered injuries and were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kurnool.

Their condition is out of danger, a police officer said adding, it seems the vehicle driver lost control while trying to take a turn as paddy was put on the road. The woman legislator is survived by her husband former MP Bhuma Nagi Reddy, two daughters and a son. According to Gulte, the car in which Shobha was travelling overturned after hitting paddy heaps dumped on the road. She was reportedly thrown out of the car and sustained grave injuries on her head and neck. The accident reportedly took place in Doobaguntamitta near Allagadda. Shobha was shifted to Suraksha hospital in Nandyal and after getting preliminary treatment she was moved to Care Hospital in Hyderabad, according to Sakshi Post. She was in critical condition and went into a coma. Doctors at the hospital put her on ventilator and tried to revive her.

Despite doctors' efforts, Shobha passed away on Thursday morning. She is survived by her husband Bhuma Nagireddy and three children.
