Background: Corporate Yahoo! is a customised information portal based on the My Yahoo! service, which Yahoo! provides to the sponsor of the Corporate Yahoo! site (the "Site Sponsor"). Corporate Yahoo! enables the Site Sponsor to integrate Yahoo!'s Internet content and services with the Site Sponsor's content and applications, so that you can access all content at a single site. The Site Sponsor will often be your employer, but may also be a governmental entity or other third party that wishes to provide you access to its content. You do not need to be a registered Yahoo! user in order to use Corporate Yahoo!, however some personalisation features are only available if you are registered.
Information Collection and Use Practices: Before accessing Corporate Yahoo!, you may be asked to supply your user ID, password, and possibly additional information during a Site Sponsor registration process. This information is collected by the Site Sponsor and is not shared with Yahoo!. If you choose to register with Yahoo!, the registration information that you enter is collected and used by Yahoo!. Your personalised Corporate Yahoo! site is initially created based on content provided by the Site Sponsor and information that you provided if you complete Yahoo!'s registration process. For example, based on the postal code you provide, Yahoo! will insert the appropriate city into the Weather module on your Corporate Yahoo! site. Yahoo! has a feedback form for you to send us your comments and suggestions regarding Corporate Yahoo!. This form asks for your name and email address, but only your email address is required. Yahoo! Inc., a global Internet media company, and TIBCO Software Inc., a global leader in Enterprise/Internet Portals, today announced an agreement that marks the launch of Corporate My Yahoo!, Yahoo!'s foray into the corporate client market. Under the agreement, Yahoo!™ and TIBCO will present custom Yahoo! Web solutions that integrate external and internal content for corporate clients, and that display Yahoo!'s Web directory capabilities and personalized services. The TIB/ActiveEnterprise integration platform enables online business users to access a vast array of proprietary corporate offerings such as supply chain status, benefits summaries, accounts payable information and employee directories. Additionally, Corporate My Yahoo! functionality allows users to fully personalize their Web experience with updated industry-specific news, financial information, local weather reports, sports and more. The Corporate My Yahoo! start page is designed to be cobranded with a client's corporate identity consistent with its corporate Intranet sites. "We are pleased to be working with TIBCO to further expand the distribution of Yahoo!'s programming and services to meet the needs and interests of businesses," said Ellen Siminoff, vice president of business development and strategic planning at Yahoo!. A Blend of Personal and Business Information As a Corporate My Yahoo! user, the entire suite of Yahoo!'s 13 free member services are available including email, instant messaging, calendar, address book, clubs, travel reservations and ticket purchases, message boards, stock portfolios, and more. Portfolios, email, community tools, financial market news and investment research drawn from Yahoo! Finance are also personalized through the Corporate My Yahoo! start page. Corporate Intranet functionality is available from the Corporate My Yahoo! start page. While proprietary content will vary from company to company, services such as peer discussions, interactive product directories, and corporate training courses are examples of the types of corporate information available to online business users. Yahoo! signed 11 new customers from diverse industries that are licensing Corporate Yahoo! for various enterprises portal solutions. New customers include McDonald's Corporation, Bayer AG, Seagate Technology, Janus Capital Corporation, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Reuters, Corio, Hall Kinion & Associates, Health Net Inc, Government Securities Clearing Corporation and JLT Services. With these agreements, Yahoo! has now surpassed more than 800,000 total licensed seats for Corporate Yahoo! in its first six months of availability.
