The XLRI Jamshedpur School of Business and Human Resources is an Indian business school, located in the city of is regarded as one of India's best B-schools after IIM A and IIM K. This Year(2009) in a survey carried out by BUSINESS WORLD MAGAZINE on INDIA’S BEST B-SCHOOL SURVEY, NITIE was ranked 3rd with an overall score of 854(Based on Living Experience+ Learning Experience+ Placement Experience+ Return on Investment + International Exposure).

Academic Programmes:
1) Postgraduate diploma in Business Management (PGDBM): XLRI offers a two-year full time programme on Business Management.


A) Eligibility:

- Marks Required : 50%
Minimum Qualification : Graduate
- Admission to the flagship programs is through XLRI's entrance test - (XAT)
- Commencement Dates of XAT: The registration to XAT Exams is online. The candidate has to visit the website www.xlri.edu and go to XAT Registration and the rest of the details is available on their website.
-XAT is conducted in around 35 cities of India at various locations in the month of January. The registration to XAT is done every year in the month of December.

B) Seats: XLRI has about 240 seats in its two-year flagship programs - Business Management.

C) Fees: 7.6lakhs (subjects to changes by the Insitute)

D) XLRI Placements: XLRI saw 100% Placement amidst recession this year.

A Report:
* Highest Domestic Salary stood at Rs 32 Lakhs per annum


* Average Domestic Salary stood at Rs 14.75 Lakhs per annum

2) Personnel Management and Industrial Relations:
The Institute offers a two-year full time Programme

A) Eligibility:

* Marks Required : 50%
* Minimum Qualification : Graduate

- Admission is through XAT, the procedure for the same is mentioned as above.

B) Seats- 240

C) Fees- 7.6lakhs (subjects to changes by the Insitute)

3) General Management Program (GMP): This is one year full-time residential program.

A) Eligibility :

-Candidates applying for One Year General Management programme must hold a minimum of three years Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University in India/abroad in any discipline,
-Must be employed in a full-time job, must have at least five years of relevant managerial experience.
-Prospective students can apply to GMP through either XAT or GMAT.
-The shortlisted students are then interviewed by a panel of two or three professors mostly drawn from the XLRI faculty.
- Diversity of work experience and high GMAT score are the most important selection criteria.

B) Fees: Rs 9.65 Lakhs

- First installment is Rs. 3,71,000, (including refundable deposits) second installment is Rs. 2,45,000, third installment is Rs. 2,35,000 and the Fourth installment is Rs. 1,39,000.

C) Placement: A 2009 Report:

-General Management was the new flavour of a placement season that saw renewed interest in taking up dynamic responsibilities across a spectrum of verticals.
- Al Ghanim, Essar, TAS, The Aditya Birla Group, The Hinduja Group, The Murugappa Group offered both national and international roles with compensation packages that reflected the gravity of responsibility thrust on the new recruits.

-14% of the batch snapped up offers in this arena.
