MIUI 12 is slowly but steadily rolling out to more and more eligible devices. We have a dedicated tracker to keep tabs on this rollout to eligible devices all across the globe.
At the time of writing, Xiaomi was done with the second batch of devices and attention now shifts to devices listed in the third phase of this rollout.

Redmi Note 9 Pro
Redmi Note 9 Pro is part of the current generation of Redmi Note devices and it is a slight upgrade from the other Redmi Note 9 devices.
It is powered by the Snapdragon 720G chip coupled with 6GB of RAM and a 5020mAh battery cell.
The device launched with Android 10 and MIUI 11 and is in line for an update to MIUI 12. However, this build is proving rather elusive.

Before the MIUI 12 build is rolled out, we know that there will have to be some form of testing program. Usually, internal MIUI beta testing is limited to the China ROM, but the Redmi Note 9 Pro has no China ROM.
This, therefore, means that there is no known internal beta testing ongoing for the device. Furthermore, there is also no public weekly beta testing for the MIUI 12 update for the Note 9 Pro.
However, in a new development, a Mi Forum moderator has hinted at the ongoing internal testing for Note 9 Pro MIUI 12 update.
The update will be released whenever internal testing gets over, Everyone wants a stable update isn’t it? So will be released once its enough stable for daily usage. And stable updates frequency isn’t fixed that particular device will get an update on a regular basis, there are lots of processes involved in it.

This is a first since for the most part, internal testing programs are often reserved for China variants yet this development is related to a device sold globally.
Granted, this also means that development of Note 9 Pro’s MIUI 12 update is indeed underway, unlike previous times where we have only stated this based on the fact that the Note 9 Pro is on the official list of MIUI 12 roadmap.
We can only hope that this update is pushed out soon and that it addresses many of the issues that the Redmi Note 9 Pro users have been facing.
