We all know CAT 2009 has been chaotic, painful, frustrating and stressful for CAT aspirants and the CAT lovers alike. The transformation of CAT from Paper/pencil test to online test was anything but smooth. And I'am sure there would be very few who would vouch for the online test to be continued futher ahead.

As the test results are going to be announced shortly, What do you all think would the results be genuine? Would the results truly refelct a candidates talent? Would they do any justice to all the efforts put in by a candidate?

Genuine not just considering the actual evaluation, which no doubt would be fool proof. But, considering other factors like for Candidates who had to write the test more than once (Like many others I have gone through this and trust me it is very painful and till i actually gave the re test i had many sleepless nights), considering everyone got a different set of questions, howmuch ever the CAT authorities have warned or requested candidates not to discuss the paper, can anyone give 100% assurance that it has been followed to the point? considering the fact that the questions were bound to repeat dont you think thsi would affect the results?

Online system is fast and therefore it reduces the painful wait for results; however the way CAT has been conducted this year was not encouraging. Hope the system improves.

As far as the results are concerned I dont think the results would be true reflector of the individuals at the same time do you have any other measure? If no, you have to believe some or the other system however erroneous it is.

only to some extent...
think of those 99 percentile student who think they won't be able to make it this time because their system crashed down the last minute...

Yes the online system should reduce the time of evaluation and also the effort for many. But in this case it didn't. Not just that but it completelty shattered the Schedule of the process which earlier was one of the most precise schedules.
Online sytem has its lot many advantages but its pretty vulnerable too, and we have a king size example here. Its not that we shouldn't go online, but the system should be as robust to fend off any kinda trouble. We'll we can only hope this was just an initial hiccup and things go smoother this year.
