Can anyone Pls tell me. How many years work ex is preferrable before taking up GMAT. In some business schools it is mandatory to have upto 5 years before we can pursue an executive MBA. But it in some college it is just an added advantage, While others ask for just as much as 2 years work ex.

Can anyone pls throw up some light on this issue.

Any good B-school requires an experience of about 3yrs, and more the better.
More experience helps in brighter chances of getting scholarships as well.

For a premium college like Wharton an experience of 5 yrs + GPA 3.5 above + GMAT 720 is an ideal candidate. While in a lower rung college like top 30 to 50 colleges, a GMAT of 700, 3yrs experience, 3.5GPA is expected. Competition is quite fierce for enrolling in an MBA. But if you r looking only for a qualification and the college here you go is not so important, then work experience, GMAT, etc really dont matter. But then such places are very expensive and loans might not be easily available for such colleges.

Hope this helps..
