THE School of Management at the University of Surrey is offering a Surrey Advertiser reader the opportunity to win a place on its MBA programme – worth up to £19,500.
An MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree is the ultimate accolade practising managers can achieve, helping them develop the knowledge and skills needed for career success.
The University of Surrey runs one of the most prestigious MBA programmes in the UK, accredited both by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the international (US-based) Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
A combination of academic modules and professional skills development, the MBA is a rigorous and intellectually demanding programme which offers a wide-ranging exploration of business theories and strategies, applied directly to real-life business problems.
Dr Ailsa Kolsaker, MBA director, said: “The programme equips managers with the skills and knowledge to make a significant contribution to strategic and operational management, and to understand business management issues within the complex conditions of the contemporary global economy.
“As well as providing a sound grounding in business and management theory, the Surrey MBA encourages managers to develop personally and professionally, with a strong emphasis on the key skills required to become a talented leader, such as team building, conflict resolution, negotiation and presentation skills. Our students also benefit from dedicated careers counselling and lifetime membership of the AMBA/ Surrey alumni community.
“Part of the rich experience of an MBA is mixing with other students from a variety of educational and professional backgrounds. We welcome outstanding people who feel they can both learn from our cutting-edge MBA and make a solid contribution to the class.”
The successful candidate can choose to study either the full-time, one-year programme (which costs £17,500) or the two-year Executive MBA (worth £19,500) which is delivered by a series of monthly weekend workshops.
This enables students to continue to earn while they learn, putting their newly developed skills and knowledge into practise in the workplace immediately.
Both programmes begin in October 2011 with the full-time programme delivered on the university’s Guildford campus and the Executive MBA at Horsley Park, a conference venue nearby.
The Executive MBA scholarship includes accommodation and meals for one night per weekend workshop.
