India’s economy grew 6.1% last quarter, igniting hopes that its economy is recovering from the global financial crisis.

However, an unusually dry monsoon season is threatening to stop this rebound before it even starts, as one fifths of India's GDP cmes from agriculture.. this year rainfall has been 26% below average.

What do u think, the economy will be strong or the growth will slip to below 6% because of the drought?

Looking at Global financial Crisis, I think India was the least Affected countries when compared with others! This is b'coz India's Central Bank[RBI] is one of the Best banks in the World in its "Man-Management" as well as "Governance".
India was able to a Sustained growth rate of over 6% last quarter.
But, however Monsoon has played Spoil Sport in Quater. Due to Inadequate irrigation our Crops in punjab, the Fields are drying up....
But, to our surprise we still find Inflation Level is still below 1%! This is B'coz the Global crude Prices has been consistently around $60-$70! Well, this is good news for India, As Crude Prices have direct impact on the Economy. But, on the Flip side how long will the crude sustain at the $70 a barrel mark.
Analyst Claim that Crude prices will soon surge to staggering $100 a barrel soon. i.e, next quarter!!!:car:
By keeping all this into consideration i really think India will have a Sustained Growth Rate of 6-7% this Quarter and Maybe an Annual Growth rate of 7%!!!

Yes Offcourse
As we are one of the world's fastest growing economy and we have many other sources from which we can build our economy much more stronger and stable. Yes rain is important for us specially for agriculture sector but i think the time has passed when we were totally dependent on agriculture. We can still grow our economy with the other sectors like, IT sector, Petroleum and natural gas industry, BPO,LPOs and KPOs, Service Sector, real estate and many more. We have long list of areas from which we can grow our economy at good pace. For farmers and industries dependent on agriculture time is bit hard and i am confident that our government will support them in best possible way.
