Till some months back,India was dream destination for any business
development.From top guns like Microsoft to even small start-ups
everyone had the dream of having an office or development center in
India.One main factor is the low cost-advantage India provided
compared to onsite locations combined with the best quality from the
Indian minds.After this recession,I fear the low-cost advantage could
slowly evade.One major reason is Americans are noe experiencing what
is the worst face of life.So they are now realising the concept of
savings.Moreover,they are now settling for a low-paying job rather
than being jobless.This will serve a major hindrance for offshore
locations.Ppl in US would now settle for a job which would be half or
even less what they have earned before.So the low-cost advantage of
offshoring to third world is getting a second thought.Moreover,the
quality will be upto the mark though can be compared to that of Indian
minds.Offshoring to third world countries will face opposition with
the recent visa restrictions and recent bailouts.With the looming
Unemployment numbers in US offshoring will not be a calkwalk from now
on.The thory of "Increased Offshoring in recession times to save cost"
cannot be unanimously accepted.
