Hi guys,

the main reason behind India not being a major player in manufacturing industry is because of less capable and unskilled worker. Manufacturing industry requires highly skilled worker as compared to IT and BPO sector. Another striking hurdle is that India do not have enough sophisticated infrastructure which is an integral part for a manufacturing industry.

Indian citizen are happy to work with low labor intensive job with a descent salary as compared to high intensive labor work in manufacturing industry with low salary.

huh? you must be an idiot if you really that. Where are you getting your information from???

India did well in IT because there was a market available for that, with investors ready to invest in that sector. If there were no high skill labors as you tout to be the case then service sector (and not IT, it's more than that) wouldn't have taken off either. You lack basic information about the manufacturing sector yet you are saying stupid things.India has highest number of skilled labors, the only problem was of infrastructure which is being put into place now. If you go to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai or even to smaller cities like Nagpur, Navi Mumbai etc. you would see a construction boom. The majority of funds sucked in by by china as they were employing slave labors, most of whom worked for 16 hours daily for a one time meal :smash:...that was impossible to match in a democracy like India. Now the focus of the government has shifted to manufacturing and so improvements are being made in the infrastructure to facilitate growth. All your non sense talk is pretty much bullshit sorry.

Another thing, the type of party that comes to power is also deterimental to a coutnry's growth... the congress party with it's massive corruption and lies has always let down India. So, if you are of voting age, vote some better party like BJP in the upcoming election. The growth has been reduced to 4% under this congi govt. these traitors need to be kicked out :SugarwareZ-022:

Re: Why can't India be a World-Class Player in Manufacturing Industry as it is in IT

Some of the main reasons are as follows ( Results will be completely compared to the major Manufacturer China)

1) China has skilled workers, even India does have it. But due to Communism, Government has a major control over each and every products manufacturing. And China has expansion strategy in every terms since early days of history. They are more and more interested in improving their production.

2) From the pace point of view. Steve Jobs said that no one can outgrow china. There is a specific reason behind this. One month before the launch of iphone, Steve Jobs kept one model as for his use inside his pocket. After using it for some days he found out that there are lot of scratches on it`s screen, as he kept his Car Keys with it. He sent a guy to china where the production of iphone was going on. That guy gave new instructions to the company for changing screen material. After this meeting, in half an hour 8000 worker were called, and in 15 mins after that all those 8000 started working just by having a cup of coffee and biscuit.

3)From the workers point of view. We call people from 50 km away to work in our company. And they have to work for straight 8 hours. Where Chinese company have housing facilities for their workers on site. They have to work in two shift of four hours each. In between those two shift they have to take lunch, that is provided by the company as well as have a nap. So that they can work efficiently.

4)Due to less exposure to the Internet, huge amount of people don`t know what freedom is. They would be happy with whatever they are earning.

5) Each person does only one work. Workers are not forced to do multitask in China.

6) From buyer point of view. Recently my uncle visited China to import some goods from there. Even though he was new to there, every thing was easy for him. Once he decided he wanted to visit China, he went online registered to Chinese company`s website. Chinese company`s follow up email came within two hours. He paid the money for the visit. Company took care of everything his flight, his hotel, a translator for his convenience, a guide was provided to him. Etc. etc. and after he selected the goods The goods was shipped to him after one month. He found one wrong item in overall shipment he complained it. That vendor was given warning for the 1st time. If something like this happens 2nd time in less than six months, he will be off the contract.

These are the main things that India don`t have, due to which India can`t become pioneer.
