I feel the celebrities are marking their presence more than the participants. But the most ubiquitioues comment about the reality show is that "all the participants get a chance to perform before the who's who of the industry and get their feedback". But I don't feel like the participants are really getting benefitted.

Watz ur say on this?

even i feel the same as even if d participant wins he gets one big contract with that particular channel n then till one year he cannot be associated with any other channel......where as d one who comes 2nd or 3rd gets more money than him in a same year ........coz he is not tied up with one channel.........n also it is said that all the acts that take place are fake and done just to gain TRPs so i feel its just for the sake of benefits to the celebs thru the common man...........

i think its more of celebrity than participants infact i shud not say participants even the winners are not being recognised..

from my point of view the organisers and celeberty are benifeted than the winners..for example if u see the winer of fame gurukul the winner are not in the fame and no one reconiginig them

even if th celebrities r more on th front seat,th particiapants r gettng chances to show their potential and its very imptnt..

The celebrity of course.. The reality shows often promise to give huge contracts on winning the show, but they dont live up to their promises. So, i dont think participants are benefited in any way.. Celebrities are given huge amounts to be a judge and a written script... What all they need??

You may consider Saroj Khan, the renowned choreographer. She became more popular after judging a relaity show... Nach baliye.....

The overwhelming majority of critics, however, view reality TV as a poison so lethal to TV and the public that it is destroying TV. Austin Cline, an about.com guide, questions the ethics of reality TV and even goes so far as to say many reality shows "achieve significant popularity and cultural prominence," but also says "that does not mean that they are good for society or that they should be aired." Is it really damaging to TV and the youth in general? On the contrary, reality TV serves many beneficial purposes to not only the public, but amazingly also the TV industry.

I would say the participants because they get their 15 minutes of fame. If it wasnt for these shows, would these average people get a chance to be on TV being watched by millions?

It does encourage the new talents. These programs enables people to perform their capabilities / talents. these type of shows are beneficial for both participants and judges. We as a audience also enjoy these kind of shows and see plenty of talents, such as dancing, sing, and art work, which are very exclusive, unusual.
