Hi All
This is a question which I have come across quite a few times so thought of posting some pointers ...
typically US Bschools have a younger age profile but there are top global programs which value experience ....some really strong ones are IMD or programs like Sloan-LBS MMS or the kellogg's 1 yr programs . The choice of school for experienced individuals becomes a bit more tricky. Besides entry , what equally becomes important is overall class profile and some younger program participants may not relate to your experienced insights. Finally, after many(typically >6,7) yrs exp. you also need to think about whether you are looking to grow further in current industry or make a change. I myself went to IMD Lausanne in Switzerland after 7 yrs of work ex. whilst also getting admission into LBS(London Business School). The ultimate reason for Choosing IMD was that I was looking at a smaller class size, stronger general management experience and importantly, a class profile where we could relate to each other . I must say I was really pleased overall . Having said that, equally I know of colleagues who chose LBS in a similar situation as they were really keen to start afresh and make a career change. A longer program typically allows you to do this better than a 1 yr program. So , there is no one size fits all but ultimately, you need to think about the motivation for pursuing an MBA and fit of your aspirations with what the program overall offers!
Best Wishes
