What to expect from budget 2008??

I'm expecting the following to happen in this Budget since this is the last budget before next general election for the Congress Govt.

1.I would say there will be an increase in the IT slab for the salaried employees.

2.Investment in Infra structure related funds would receive an Tax benefit to boost the infrastrucure funding.

3.Service Tax cut will be there to boost the exports.

4.Some specialised funding for the agriculture.

With the union budget for 2008 round the corner.....what should the comman man expect from the budget.....Will the scenes change this year or it will be the same old story...once again....common man will be lured diplomatically......

What is your take on this........?
 
Well to say what i expect from the Budget would be something like this...

The Finance Minister should support the manufacturing industries like textiles and other industries. The Minister has to Frame such policies which really help these industries.

The income tax rate is too high and why only women are allowed to have lower tax-rates, they even are getting same pay as men. so income tax should be equal.

VAT and personal-loan rates should be decreased and more taxes should be levied on high-end gadgets, cigars, liquors and large-cars.

He budget should focus on irrigation, power, and infrastructural development.

The FM should accept that India is rising, shining only in urban areas. It is high time that he concentrates on the rural poor of this country.

Lets just hope that the finance minister presents the budget as the finance minister of the country not a finance minister of the rich, elite and the politicians.

The FM must consider about the financial budget of every individuals and should think like as a local public rather sitting in an luxurious cabin and taking hasty decision.
 
Acc. to me.. our FM should raise the import duties and at the same time cut down the export duties so as to reduce imports and increase exports respectively. Moreover, measures must be taken to reduce FDI's and increase the share of domestic investment. This budget should be a soft budget (aam aadmi's budget). If proper measures r not taken then if would adversely affect the economy. An IT employee would not be much affected if he buys a nano instead of an alto but for a carpet weaver it would mean no bread for him and his family. So the budget should take care of that aspect.
