The scum of the earth are the pedophiles. Sometimes punishment should be harsher and serve as a deterrent. I think just 7 years for rape by itself is a crime.

Death is too merciful.Tattoo should be made that clarifies "I am a rapist" on his forehead and insert a non removable needle through his penis. Next time he even gets aroused, he is gonna suffer.Other kinda rape: Gouge out an eye and castrate him permanently.

Whatever the punishment you have mentioned is not respecting the human rights.I agree that the rape is the worst crime but afterall our law system treats everyone as equal.So he must be treated according to the judicial system and not on their own accord.Afterall we all advocate democracy.
 
ya i know such kind of people get away from such punishment by the so called legal body human rights, but what happen to the human rights people when such rapist does this. I can even forgive murderers, thieves hell even those who rape adult women to an extent.

The reason being all the others maybe kill the victim or emotionally scare someone who knows the world. Don't you think rape kills the soul. The emotional trauma that they undergo is something that you and i can never understand.

But ya this human rights guys surely bring them out of the heavy punishment that they really deserve.
 
Dear neeraj, if the society followed what you mentioned, it pretty much becomes a jungle rule ( an eye for an eye ) . Civilians have legal system in place only to prevent this jungle rule which you suggest to make legal.<br> <br> Having said that, we have to realize that our judicial system is not perfect and even to think of such a punishment to a wrongly convicted person gives me the creeps. <br> <br> Just a fascinating question, if rapists have to undergo such harsh punishments , what kind of punishments do you vision for kasab or masterminds of the stock exchange bomb blasts or for people like daud abrahim and the D company ?<br>
 
hay i have an answer to those who are related to kasab and the other all, they should be given the same treatment of the Jail kala pani gives because they deserve it. They never thought before doing any thing that they did.

ya about rapist, surely i think they should be treated in the manner that makes them realize about every moment or the pain that women comes across her life. They should feel the pain every moment in their life.
 
when a person rape a girl he not only rape the girl but also the girl psychologically which ruins her life throught her life which changes her total persona as an individual so its penalty should be as harsh as possible so , person commiting the crime tht crook should be made impotent by chopping of the vein and then should be given life improsenment
 
IF EVERYBODY REPE, THAN PUNISHMENT SHOULD BE VERY STRICT, LIKE HANGED, YA KILL HIM. IN MY OPINION A RAPIEST IS MORE DANGEROUS COMPARE TO A NAXALITE OR A TERRORIST. IN INDIA LAW SHOULD BE VERY STRICT FOR A RAPIST.
 
Well Sajju, Increasing the term of imprisonment is not as important as making sure that the rapist does not go unpunished. A seven year sentence is long enough. Not sure why paedophile get a lesser sentence though.

Punishment is supposed to detract potentian criminals from committing the crime. Capital punishment is wrong because the idea of society killing a person because he has killed stinks of double standards. Then there is the classic problem of 'Who will watch the watchers'.
 
The only punishment should be given is Death. The fear of death will definitely decreases such types crimes in India. There is no strict rules and punishment that is why number of rapes is increasing in India. This is the right time to take such an action against these criminal.
