Marketing is everywhere...formally or informally, intentionally done or unintentionally. Am writing this article today, some way or the other people will like it…if they like it they’ll post it and when it is posted my article is publicized. Indirectly am marketing my own self. Good marketing has become an increasingly vital ingredient for every business success. Marketing strongly affects our day to day lives. From brushing our teeth to uploading status on facebook. For e.g.: for an job in a reputed organization you have to market your ownself to get in that company.
I went to my college attended my lectures which was quite boring. Just to freshen up my dull mind I opened my ACER laptop, and started playing COUNTER STRIKE and I lost it…I wished to use internet went to take the HATHWAY WI-FI password (Promoting my college hi-tech infrastructure) and started my MOZILLA browser. As usual thought of checking my notifications on FACEBOOK. Number of ads came along with the page. One of the ad was about the HP TOUCHPAD TABLET, just because am an electronic freak I clicked on the ad and MR. MARK ZUCKERBERG got paid for the same. I hope everyone is aware of it whenever someone click on any advert the page gets paid…I showed the same ad to one of my friend and the very next day she got herself a HP TOUCHPAD. With the HP touchpad she got a free pack of MOSERBEAR CD’s which had 10 latest movies in it.
Good marketing is a result of careful planning and execution. You might be thinking to yourself that it’s more the product that drives behavior than the marketing, and when it comes to the HP I don’t necessarily disagree. However, I would argue that in some ways, the marketing has to be even better than it does.
So what can be learned from the tens of millions that HP spends on advertising every year??? I think the answer to that question is to work in lock step with your product development team to showcase developments and tap the emotions of those using your products. When I used my friends HP TOUCHPAD, I feel good, fresh, and comprehensive. I wouldn’t have reached that conclusion without the help of marketing to get me there.
The lesson that I’ve learned is that marketing, if done correctly, helps us to define how we feel about a product. Once you have prediction and customers attaching emotions to your products, you automatically develop loyal customers. But remember that when customer is assessing the quality they are not simply comparing our performance with others but to every other company that is serving their needs. The next time that you’re thinking about a marketing campaign, consider how you want your customers to feel about your product. After all CUSTOMERS IS KING!!!
Now that’s what I call GOOD MARKETING.
