Presentation matters a lot in today's world and this has been referred to as the "X-Factor". In case of girls be it any industry during the time of interview self presentation is necessary and in that case if she is good looking or beautiful then it is an added bonus for her.
Girls are the epitome of beauty and people around the world have always looked for DIVAS and beauties because girls are expected to be presenting themselves in a nice way.
So I agree with the statement, but getting promotion is another aspect, lot other qualities are nowadays looked upon, obviously beautiful girls are noticed very easily and it can be one of the reason that they get promoted also easily. Its not that because they are beautiful but it is that they have beauty with brains and very obviously girls with such qualities are sure to get promoted than their counterparts who are ordinary.
