Last week when the $700b bailout plan was rejected by ppl, most of them had a same point. What is the point of CEOs walking with millions when their companies are bankrupt?Even in IT companies I see a similar trend. The overall hike for the employees are the first one to be cut short. What abt the compensation given to the CEOs of the companies. Moreover, employees are not directly responsible for the functioning of the company.Ppl in Mgmt board of a company take important decisions regarding the company's prospects. But first to be penalised are the employees in the bottom of the pyramid. Is this fair?

i think u just lost ur job in similar fashion or may b u just gt carried away. thats one side of story, may be the amt of money they walked away with is what was due to them. and in any case when companies go bust CEO's too lose their job and being an employee they have the right to claim the salary due to them, irrespective of amt which for them tends to run in millions....JUST a Thought

IT companies will still get affected due to the spending being decreased by their clients in the financial industry. Less loans will be issued by these companies hence we are staring a genuine global crisis here. If banks need money, they are in all authority to recall any loans - that includes one given you for 30 years as mortgage. So they can easily repossess your property and sell it - that's the reason for the bailout.

IT companies may be the hardest hit industry since it provides support-level services to the financial industry. I expect prominent companies decreasing their payroll and increasing their work load pretty soon. Even for Indian companies, which export services to the US. Australia is pretty much hit as well and Singapore has suffered, FDI reduction is more or less a possibility so hope that the bail out will work.
