Both the 5 Km event and the 10 Km event were flagged off by the President of XIME, Prof. J. Philip in the presence of the Chief guests. Participants who included Men and Women, young and old, displayed their athletic spirits as they competed against each other on the pleasant Sunday morning.

This is a first of its kind event organised by XIME and has set benchmarks for other events to follow. The event was organised by the social wing of XIME called XSEED. The aim of the walkathon was to spread awareness on the prevailing health conditions of school going children and to improve their health. With active support from leading hospital chaind such as Narayana Hrudalaya ad Ramakrishna Hospitals, the proceeds from the event will be used to provide free health check-up to 4099 students belonging to 14 different local government schools located in the vicinity of Electronics City.

With Participation from a large number of professionals from Bangalore and also XIME alumni, the event turned out to be a huge success. The collaboration with big Hospital chains such as Narayana Hrudalaya and St. John Hospitals provided a significant boost to the event. This also ensured that the benefits from the event reach the children. The event provided not only a great sense of satisfaction to the organizers but also a good deal of learning in terms of CSR. The city traffic police also provided their assistance in controlling the traffic at various points along the route.

The winners of the 5 Km and the 10 Km events were awarded certificates by Dr. Regi V Matthew, Dean (Academic Programs), XIME. The certificates were distributed to the first, second and the third runner up of both the events.
