About TSU

A TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE
Since its founding in 1887, Troy State University has been recognized for the quality of its academic programs and its focus on the individual student.
Money Magazine recently rated Troy State as one of the 25 best college buys in the United States. TSU was also named one of the top traditional, Southern universities.
Troy State University offers its 5,100 students a wide variety of academic majors, a solid general studies program, and a faculty-student ratio more typical of a private college. Classroom teaching remains the highest priority at TSU.

THE TSU CAMPUS
TSU's 460-acre campus, with 35 major buildings and excellent recreational facilities, provides a safe, attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The small college-atmosphere is reflected in the General Studies (liberal arts) curriculum, the close relationships between students and teachers, and the decentralized (departmental) registration process - all of which means that TSU students are taught by faculty members (not graduate assistants) who know their student's names.

ACCREDITATION
Troy State University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to award the associate degree, the bachelor's degree, the master's degree and the education specialist degree.
TSU students enjoy NCAA Division I athletics, a premier marching band, extensive academic and student support services, recreational facilities, an active Student Government Association, and social outlets including Greek and other organizations.
The school colors are cardinal, black and silver. TSU's mascot is the Trojan.
