The University
Hawai'i Pacific University is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducational, nonsecretarian, career-oriented post secondary institution founded in 1965.
Accreditation and Memberships
Hawai'i Pacific University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the National League for Nursing. HPU is also a member of many nationally recognized groups including the National League of Nursing, and the Executive MBA Council.
Location
HPU gives students the best of both worlds, with both an urban downtown campus and a residential campus in the foothills of the Ko'olau mountains. HPU continues to expand, offering courses in the fastest growing area in Hawaii, the city of Kapolei. There are also seven campuses on military installations on O'ahu.

Services for International Students HPU offers a variety of comprehensive services and resources designed to support international students throughout their academic endeavor.
- Meet an HPU representative in your country.
- HPU offers early transcript evaluation for prospective international students. If you plan on transferring to HPU and would like to know if and how many of your current college credits will transfer, email or fax the college your transcripts (must be in English) with a written request for an early (unofficial) evaluation.
- The staff of the International Center (IC) assists international students throughout their process of preparing for their education at HPU. The IC serves as first point of contact for all international students when inquiring about their educational opportunities at HPU, and processes all applications received from prospective international students.
- HPU's Housing Office assists all accepted incoming international students with their housing needs. The housing services are meant to facilitate the transition phase and to make the settling in to a new home and environment much easier.
- After their arrival at HPU, all new international students are strongly recommended to attend one of the International Student Orientations designed to provide them with all the necessary information to start a successful learning experience at HPU.
- The international student advisors from International Student Services (ISS) are trained specialists prepared to help international students adapt to their home-away-from-home. They provide numerous services for enrolled international students and, most importantly, keep them informed about ever-changing immigration regulations.
- HPU publishes an International Student Handbook (PDF Version) which contains general information about the university, about adjusting to American life, about living in Hawai'i, as well as special topics on how to open a bank account, how to use the bus system, and how to obtain a driver's license.
- A staff of trained professionals at HPU's Advising Center will provide international students with academic counseling and guidance throughout their educational career at HPU.
- HPU's PAL program assists new international students enrolled in beginning-level English language courses to get acquainted with their new environment. English-speaking volunteers will help them practice their English skills and serve as their mentors.
- HPU's Tutoring Center offers individualized tutoring assistance free of charge to all registered international students.
- HPU has more than 70 officially-affiliated Student Clubs and Organizations and all students are greatly encouraged to participate.
- Intercultural Day is a much anticipated annual event showcasing HPU's diverse student body through cultural exhibits, a colorful parade, and many dance and song performances from around the world.
- The university's libraries grant enrolled international students access to more than 50 international newspapers and magazines. These publications are available to HPU students either in print form at the libraries, or may be viewed online through the university's intra-net 'HPU Pipeline'.
- HPU's Career Services Center (CSC) provides a wide array of career services to prepare international students with career knowledge and the job skills necessary to obtain a variety of career opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally.
