Florida International University - Miami's public research university - is one of America's most dynamic institutions of higher learning. In 2000, FIU received the highest research university ranking conferred by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. This Research Extensive classification is awarded only to those institutions that offer a wide range of baccalaureate programs and are committed to graduate education through the doctorate level. During the period studied, research extensive universities awarded 50 or more doctoral degrees per year across at least 15 disciplines. Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA)
The College of Business Administration at Florida International University (FIU) offers a unique program called the Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (ADBA).
This program was developed in response to an expressed need by students and educators for a post-graduate course of study that would help students prepare for a global career in business administration. The program also assists students in preparing for an MBA or a specialized Master's degree program.
The Advanced Diploma in Business Administration is a full-time, one year graduate-level program consisting of 30 credit hours. The program includes a three month summer internship.

Program Description
The ADBA program curriculum is offered in four (4) quarters (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer) . During the Fall, Winter, and Spring quarter s , students take nine (9) credit-hours. During the Summer quarter, students take three (3) credit hours to complete their program requirements through an internship or elective course.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday in four hour blocks (8:00 a.m.-12 noon, 12:30-4:30 p.m.) as required to complete the coursework for the quarter. The typical week includes about 12 hours in the classroom.

- Grades received in the program can be used to compute a final GPA for admission into one of our graduate programs.
- For students with a three-year Bachelor's degree, the diploma would count as the fourth year required for admission into one of our graduate programs.
- Under the F-1 visa, foreign students are eligible for one year of Optional Professional Training in the United States after program completion.
- Students can participate in a three month summer internship program.
- Students will be enrolled in the College of Business Administration at Florida International University and entitled to all the benefits of being a full-time student.
