Admission Requirements:
Admission is selective. For undergraduates, high school transcripts, SAT I or ACT scores, letter of recommendation and essay are required. In general, admitted undergraduate students have a A, B+ or B High School average and the middle 50% have SAT scores between 1080 and 1280. Admitted graduate students should have a 3.0 GPA or better.
Tuition:
For 2002-2003, freshman tuition for the privately-endowed colleges is held at $18,498 under the Alfred Tuition Plan, $20,376 for new transfer students. Grad school tuition is $24,720 for 2002-2003.
For the New York State College of Ceramics, undergraduate tuition for 2002-2003 is $10,272 for in-state students and $14,160 for out-of-state students. Grad school tuition is $14,586 for 2002-2003.
Financial Aid:
Alfred University offers merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, loans, and work-study.

Athletics:
