The University of Toledo is one of 13 state universities in Ohio. We were established in 1872 and became a member of the state university system in 1967. The University of Toledo and the Medical University of Ohio merged July 2006 to form the third-largest public university operating budget in the state.

We offer more than 250 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs at colleges of:

* Arts and Sciences
* Business Administration
* Education
* Engineering
* Health Science and Human Service
* Medicine
* Nursing
* Pharmacy
* University College

Some of our nationally ranked programs include business, engineering, law, and occupational therapy.

We also offer:

* Part-time and full-time options of study
* Day and evening classes
* One of the largest distance-learning programs in the nation

Main Campus features nine modern residence halls, a gothic bell tower, a Student Recreation Center, a state-of-the-art classroom center in one of our original buildings, Memorial Field House, opening fall 2008, and a football stadium and new Savage Hall basketball and athletic complex, set to open fall 2008.

Health Science Campus is home to graduate health programs and the UT Medical Center, a Level 1 trauma center, offering innovative treatments for strokes and cancer found nowhere else in the state. The UT Medical Center, also features the new $5.8-million Orthopaedics Center.

At UT, we have researchers working at all levels — from undergraduates to faculty — toward our mission of improving the human condition. In fact, their combined, efforts have led to 125 patents and nearly $60 million in funding and grants. Whether your interest is diabetes, performance management, bio-fuels, or Shakespeare, we welcome you to join us in research.

We also are transforming the regional economy and the world through the UT Science and Technology Corridor, where research and innovation mean business.

And our campuses are quite the happening (and fun) places to be — with 200 student organizations, art exhibits, theater performances, athletic games, and renowned speakers such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

At UT, we are proud Rockets (our nickname), we love our gold and blue (our school colors), and we invite you to visit campus to experience it for yourself.

Re: US UNI:JD/MBA The University of Toledo

JD/MBA

The JD/MBA dual degree program offers a student who has been admitted to The University of Toledo College of Law and The University of Toledo MBA Program the opportunity to complete requirements for both the JD and the MBA degrees through a program of integrated curriculum in an accelerated period of study. The program is designed for full-time students who have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration or its equivalent. Students with a non-business undergraduate degree may be required to complete up to ten prerequisite courses, depending upon the nature of the undergraduate degree.

Description of the Curriculum
The integrated program and curriculum lead to the awarding of two degrees. The Juris Doctor degree is awarded by The University of Toledo College of Law, and the MBA degree is awarded by The University of Toledo College of Business Administration.

Juris Doctor Degree: The College of Law requires the successful completion of 89 semester hours. The dual degree program permits up to 12 semester hours of core courses done in the College of Business Administration to be applied towards the satisfaction of the 89-hour requirement. The 12 hours of core courses from the College of Business Administration need to be approved by the Associate Dean of the College of Law.

M.B.A. Degree: To fulfill requirements for the MBA degree, students must complete 33 semester hours at the 6000 level or above, including all eight MBA core courses (24 semester hours) and three electives (9 semester hours). Students in the dual program may apply up to 12 semester hours of non-first-year course work at the College of Law towards satisfaction of 12 MBA semester hours. These 12 hours may be substituted for three electives and one core course with the permission of the Associate Dean of The University of Toledo College of Business Administration and may come from the following courses:

Administrative Arrangements
The University of Toledo Colleges of Law and Business Administration will be responsible for the administration of the dual degree program. The College of Law and the College of Business Administration shall coordinate and continue to monitor any changes in curriculum in the respective colleges that might lead to an adjustment of crossover credit courses within each college.

Admissions
Students must apply to both programs separately. There are separate application fees as well. A check-off box will indicate a candidate's request for admission to the dual program on the Law application. The LSAT will be accepted by the College of Business Administration in lieu of GMAT scores.

Advising
The College of Law and the College of Business Administration, with the Graduate School, will administer and advise with regard to that school's curriculum, requirements, and guidelines. A dual program oversight committee will review policies and monitor the progress of students toward the dual degree completion.

Awarding of Degrees and Credit
A student enrolled in the dual degree program will not receive either the JD or MBA degree until all the work required for both degrees has been completed. A student who withdraws from the dual degree program and remains in either the College of Law or College of Business Administration shall receive only so much credit for work in the other college as the Dean may authorize under the rules of that College.

No credit for work in the other college shall be awarded unless the student achieves what is a "passing grade" in the college offering the course. In addition, degrees must be awarded within time limits established by the Graduate School, the College of Law, and the College of Business Administration.
