U.S. MBA Mortgage Applications Index Fell 14 Percent Last Week (Bloomberg)
May 27 (Bloomberg) -- Mortgage applications in the U.S. declined last week, led by a plunge in refinancing as lending rates rose. The Mortgage Bankers Association’s index of applications to purchase a home or refinance a loan dropped 14 percent to 786 in the week ended May 22, from 915.9 the week before.
