Description
The PPT about Tuckman's Group Development Model and it covers aspects forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning.
?
?
FORMING:
? ? ?
Forming takes place in the initial stages of team development when team members first come together to learn about the project on which they will be working. Team members set goals and assign individual roles and responsibilities to members. Team members share information, get to know one another and assess individual skills and personalities. Team leaders should also set ground rules and ensure that each team member is assigned a specific role on the team.
?
?
STORMING:
?
?
?
Storming is the second phase of Tuckman's team development model. In this phase, team members compete for status and recognition. The storming phase of team development may be marked by strain, and team members may even begin to argue with one another or challenge the authority of the team leader. In the storming phase, team leaders must maintain control and organize work to ensure the team remains productive. Team leaders must address communication issues and manage conflict to ensure the team may transition quickly to the next phase.
?
?
NORMING:
The third stage of Tuckman's model of the stages of team development in organizations is referred to as norming. In this phase, team members begin to work together to develop processes, procedures and team norms. Team norms consist of the often unwritten rules of conduct to which members must adhere to avoid conflict and allow the team to proceed unhindered.
?
?
?
?
PERFORMING:
Performing is the fourth phase of Tuckman's team development model. This was considered the final stage of team development in organizations until 1977. This phase occurs once the team has resolved all conflict and members have accepted their individual roles and responsibilities. In this phase, team members channel their energy into achieving the goals of the team rather than wasting time vying for power. In the performing stage of team development, team members finally work together effectively to achieve results.
?
?
?
?
?
?
ADJOURNING:
The final, and sometimes forgotten, stage of team development in organizations is referred to as adjourning. Adjourning takes place after the team achieves its goals and there is no longer a need for this particular group of people to work together. This phase is marked by the completion of tasks and dissolution of the team. Team members may celebrate the completion of a project and create a list of best practices for future team projects before the adjourning stage is complete.

In my school days there was an inter school dance competition and In that competition I have choreographed the dance on behalf of my school. Now I am going to relate this how I have grouped my dancers with the Tuckman’s five stages of group development. For that competition, I have to develop a group consist of well trained dancers.
?
?
Stage 1: Forming:
In the forming stage, I have to form a group of good and well trained dancers. to well trained creative dancers I have to take a audition finally after taking the audition15good and well trained dancers are selected and a group of 15 dancers are formed this way.

? ?
Outcome
15 well trained dancers were selected A appropriate group for the competition was formed
?
?
Stage 2: Storming
Now after the forming stage, there comes the storming stage which I think is the most difficult stage to control for a leader.in this stage my dancers started to show their creativity and started competing with each other. Every one was free to give their opinion on what would b the song and style of dancing.
?
?
? ?
Outcome
Everyone got their opportunity to give their suggestion Many alternatives came forward
?
?
Stage 3: Norming
After much discussion we decided to dance a Bharatnatyam style on a patriotic song from a bollywood film. the costume of the dance was also decided. and at last the dance was choreographed and we started our rehearsals everyday.
? ?
?
? ? ?
Outcome

?
?
