Top UK MBA schools - what do they worth?

I am thinking to apply to LBS and Cambridge. At the last moment I start having second thoughts - it is worth going for MBA in these schools? As I understand, fees in LBS are £44000 and Cambridge charges £35000 + about £2000 college fee.
I looked at their programs - well, they are quite the same as in other business schools. They have good teachers, but you don't learn only through lectures, you also do projects and study on your own through books, and they are more or less the same in every good business school. Many places have similar facilities to these top schools.
It well known fact that graduates from these schools get good starting salaries. However, is it really because these schools are so good? I read on GMAT website that students who get high GMAT score usually study better. What does it mean? Schools with high GMAT score pre-select the top students who are naturally successful. So, is it a surprise that top schools have talented graduates?
So, it is a really good return on investment to study in such top schools instead of going somewhere less ranking, but still good quality, like Manchester, Cranfield, Warwick or Bath?
