To be a Leader you need experience or not??

Leader are born and not made is the general conception from the Napoleon era. i completely agree with it in a void assumption that internal and external factors doesn't create an impact in the character of a person
But in today's generation, with exposure to so many things at so little age, people tend to have a different mind set and thus maliciously tend to dominate things and determine solutions.
Managers can be trained to become leader but according to me , though they are trained they will lakh the sixth sense or the gut instinct to make decisions and lead the idea.http://www.managementparadise.com/forums/images/smilies/SugarwareZ-287.gif

My question is are you looking out for any random leader or do you want to specify it to being a fine/great leader.
I believe every leader is unique, each one having his own attributes. eg flamboyance, motivational ability etc.
Also even if i agree that a great leader is born not made.... Think for a second how great that leader would be after years of experience. After all time does nothing else except calming your nerves...and making you wise. Both a positive attribute for a great leader
 
Leader are the ones who are with you but still ahead of you.
To become a leader one needs knowledge and experience.
So all the great leaders emerge after a great effort..Practically speaking leaders are neither born nor made..they EMERGE!
 
A leader should have an idea about the results of his decisions. Without experience this sixth sense is not developed. However we are not talking about some general Work Experience but experience in dealing with the field of work in which he/she is given the leadership position.
 
to be a leader you may not have a experience....wht i belive is that if you have a guts to stand before all and delivered your idea is matters a lot...mear experience doesnt have any impact..there are so many example whodint have any experience but prove themselves a good leader

hey i totally agree with this opinion and to be a mere leader is just not enough as said by some one above but one should be a fine/great leader otherwise according to me he is not a leader but poses himself to be one.
 
well the q says the for leader we need experience or not,a common just dont turn into leader in a day,it requires continuous learning,and thats what we call experience

HEY EXPERIENCE IS JUST GONNA HELP U RELATE THE PRESENT SITUATION TO THE PAST SITUATION THAT YOU HAVE EXPERIENCED ...

THIS WILL EVENTUALLY HELP YOU TO COME UP WITH IDEAS THAT ARE ALREADY USED IN THE PREVIOUS SITUATION


HENCE NO GREAT BIG IDEAS COMING UP EVERY TIME PROBLEM ARISES...

HENCE FROM ONE POINT OF VIEW THIS IS BAD AND LIMITING ONES IMAGINATION TO BRING OUT NEW IDEAS....AND SUGGESTIONS
 
its nt necesery 4 d leader 2 hav exp, he/she is already a leader bt by exp he/she leadership skills r polished nd wil b able 2 take decision more efficiently.

I am agreed with you. For a leader there is some experience is needed. Experience to enthuse the people, motivate them and also build. That is the quality of a leader. When people start following then you will be a great leader with your thoughts and idea but all it need some time and experience.
