I don't know what's wrong with Indiatimes group. It might be lack of stable political dogma or fear of criticism or the sky-soaring popularity of NaMo that they can't ignore.
They've been behaving weirdly on NaMo rescue operation issue. Though they are known for publishing Anti-Modi articles since years, surprisingly there was an article in TOI on 23rd June praising NaMo with all possible details saying"Narendra Modi lands in Uttrakhand and flies out with 15000 Gujaratis" (Narendra Modi lands in Uttarakhand, flies out with 15,000 Gujaratis - The Times of India). The article was well celebrated by readers and was shared by 47,000 people on FB which spreads it to 1M+ readers. There are 4091 comments out of which more than 95% were Pro-Modi comments.
After 3 days comes an Anti-Modi article by on Economic Times saying "It's Narendra Modi's hype machine at work" (Narendra Modi’s hype machine at work - Page2 - The Economic Times) which indirectly alleges it to be false advertising or NaMo to be a 'Fekuchand'. The beauty is that the article was a big-time flop, hardly 94 shares, 3 tweets (by TOI ppl) and 21 comments where 20 comments were Pro-modi and 1 comment (Seems from a Congress member) is Anti-Modi. Many readers have commented, "It's a paid news".
Again comes a Pro-Modi article saying "Narendra Modi led rescue efforts in Uttarakhand are not publicity gimmicks" (Narendra Modi led rescue efforts in Uttarakhand are not publicity gimmicks - Economic Times) singing NaMo's praises with maximum amount of details and name of the people involved. This article got 15,000+ shares, 539 comments where invariably more than 90% are Pro-Modi comments.
Dear TOI, are you playing Serial-Serial and getting those cheesy twists in the story of a rescue operation or are you playing Hit-Flop to know whether people appreciate you being Ant-Modi or Pro-Modi or whether they know that those news stories are paid? This is not a story of some filmstar's breakup or TV serial gossips. Whoever read these stories, read in details and they read you simultaneously and they are making perceptions. You can't fool the generation which is all time on web, having 30 tabs live on their browsers, twitter on their hands and constant eyes on FB.
