There is no perfect money. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of money.

IMO, a good money should have the following characteristics:

It should be a practical medium of exchange - not so scarce, hazardous, or difficult to carry or transport that the costs of production outweigh the money value.

It should be an acceptable medium of exchange - most throughout the world should prefer it to alternatives.

It should be a storage of value - it should retain its value over time.

It should be homogeneous and divisible - there should be no distinction in quality between two units of equal quantity, and no difference between equally divided units.

It should be difficult to destroy - it should not easily be destroyed through adverse environment or tear and wear.

It should be relatively scarce - it should not be so abundant that nobody places a value on it, or so easily produced that it can quickly become abundant in a very short period of time.

It should be easy to store - it should not require the employment of extensive warehouse vaults.

It should be resistant to counterfeiting - it should not be easily mimicked so as to encourage fraud.
