The Tea cup with a hole (poem)

Introduction : Do you discard anything that has passed its prime ? Does attachement and resentment have anything to do with it ?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once upon a time a family of four,

had a tea cup with a hole.

When visited a snotty neighbour;

it was taken out to play its role.

Though fine with the turn of events it was,

Reminiscences about the life before wear and tear took its toll.

It was a gift from the husband's mother.

The wife ; though tended to her mother's cutlery with care,

about the tea cup she didn’t bother.

The In-law washed it whenever she came,

For many days on the cabinet,

Untouched; it stood the same.

One day a cricket ball crashed in,

Many of the plates and bowls found their way to the bin.

Among them there was the tea cup too.

Mixed with tissues from the loo,

Dumped it was ; into the neighbourhood collect.

stood near the haven of flies and stray,

A careless cow's footing ; did its fate bisect !
