The rules of the Indian car market that have begun a dramatic chance in 1998—99 have now taken a completely new shape. The economy is slowly picking up and it is expected that the Volumes in all the segments of the car market shall grow faster than ever before.

The launch of Telco’s Magna at the New Delhi exposition showed that Indian companies believe the sedan and saloon segments offer hidden and untapped potential Ratan Tata. Chief of Tata group went to the extent of saying the homegrown car could be compared to the Mercedes E-class.

It is an indication that the group intends to invest money to build a presence in the luxury segment.
Magna is scheduled to hit the Indian roads in about a year’s time but analysts do not believe that it will make an immediate impact due mostly to the market identification of the Tata brand with utility than luxury vehicles.

Likely to be priced close to Rs 10 lakh, the Magna will stretch the battle in the saloon-sedan segments which is getting more crowded and complex
