The Owl's Discourse (Poem)

Introduction - As Religion (or rather spiritual Agents) encroaches upon the unruly Polity , What is in store for the unsuspecting populace ?

----------------------------------------------------------

Only one owl doth sleep,

And loudly did he snore,

His whole dwelling did smell,

So did , the clothes he wore.

We woke him up , and though young was he;

Adept at narrating a lore.

“Once similar were we to others nocturnal.

Known all over was our chief,

For the sheer number of his vassal.”

“One day in our territory ,

Came a hermit ; holy,

Came with him , all his followers ,

And over the resources , lost we; the monopoly.”

“When after a hard Night’s work,

When the shadows ceased to lurk,

Tried we to catch a nap,

While chanting hymns and praying to the sun,

Loudly their hands did clap.”

When confronted I , they did simper.

Seeing which, we lost our temper.

Droppings all their robes of saffron,

Which took off they , before a bath.”

Come forth He , who this outrage lead.”

Cry out they , forgetting austerity.

Does god favour those with a heavy pitch ,

If true ; then its such a pity.”

Said they in unison,

The winds blow forth a tempest ,

Churning along my transient peace.

The protege of lucifer awaits his turn,

as the abode of heretics burn.

Long along the crimson dance.”

In the eye of the storm, lament I ; for my beloved ,

The ascended shadow; prowls.

Wherest art thou my capricious muse,

I put forth my hand ;

till the lumber lasts
