The number of applicant to MBA is going up by 20% each year and the job market is expected to get tougher with times, recession is one given condition. It will be hard to get admission and all harder to secure your dream job.

Recession is no new phenomenon. Everytime the new folks will have something to new to face, different from their peers. This are termed as cycles, and they are multiple. There will be balanced blend of good as well as bad times.

So few lessons from the our learnings:

(1) Be practical.
Its not always possible to get good job or rather a lucrative one even in the boom times. One has to convince hard to a comapny that though they do no have the direct relevant work experience, they have the potency to do well.

(2) Be Clear enough, about your expectations.

Every individual has a given tendency to opt choices. But sometimes one has to settle with whatever opportunity at hand, because its atleast better from not being employed which is felt as shame.
While there are other breeds who will hold until they hit their dream job, given whatever amount of time it is.

So point here is everyperson has a different psychological, mental and physical capacity. Making a decision under influence or following footsteps of your peers isn't a wise ddecision. How long are you prepared both mentally and financially to survive without a job post-MBA to get the job you want?

(3) Choose multiple strategy to acomplish.

If you desire to make a career in a particular domain, say for example in HR, its not necessary for you to immediately take up an MBA programme for HR and then enter into the industry, instead you can start with a similar job, have some experience, wait for the times to get well and then opt for a programme. Be proactive then reactive.

One must abide by the fact that things always donot mould the way you want it to be. life is not always straightforward and there are twists and turns, ups and downs. There are many turning points in life, one needs to bulid the abilty to sense opportunities well or develop abilty to tackle situations smartly. Sometimes you may be landed to unrelated places where you never desired to be- and there are many such situtations.

You never wanted to opt this job, never expected yourself to landup here, but then, incidents occurs of which you can do least about.

This are termed as the learning curves of life. Respect it Learn from the situtation, to emerge strong.

So there's no magical appraoch to get a dream job, the funda is to keep your expectations realistic, be pragmatic and have a winners attitude!

And most importantly, like many things -- NOT getting what you want can lead to other more wonderful things you never would've even discovered otherwise -- if you're willing to see it that way.:SugarwareZ-169:
