Who We Are:
The Manning School of Business at the University
of Massachusetts Lowell has a long history of
educating business leaders. Through programs
in accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, interna-
tional business, management, management
information systems, marketing and supply
chain and operations management we provide
students with the broad range of skills necessary
for success.
Our Mission:
The Manning School of Business delivers
exceptional teaching, learning and research
experiences in our Bachelor's, Master’s and Ph.D.
programs that prepare our graduates for the
competitive global business environment.
My experience with the Entrepreneurship program
was nothing less than exciting and enriching.
Never in my life did I think I could become so
involved and engaged in my studies and course-
work as I did with my classes for this program. The
fact that the work was challenging pushed me to
apply myself and perform to my maximum poten-
tial. To top it all off, the professors are top notch,
always ready and willing to help each and every
student to succeed. I would highly recommend the
Entrepreneurship program to any student with an
interest in making a difference in their world and
exploring the vast world of information this focus
has to offer.
— Edward Silva,
Entrepreneurship, 2012
"My whole life I have always wanted to be my own
boss. The entrepreneurship concentration here at
UML prepared me with the knowledge and confi-
dence to one day pursue my own business. The
experience I had in the classroom was wonderful
and the professors teach with real life experience.
I am now furthering my education in the
MSITE program, advancing my knowledge in
entrepreneurship and innovation."
— Adam Kuver, 2012
"Entrepreneurship is at the core of UMass Lowell
and our community. Entrepreneurship is a combi-
nation of all of the other concentrations that the
Manning School of Business has to offer. Our
professors here do an amazing job of telling us how
real world businesses start from just an idea into
multibillion corporations. They also give us insight
into some of their past business ventures, and teach
us about their failures and their successes. Entre-
preneurship can range from the next owner of
an airline to someone who wants to own a coffee
shop. No matter what the dream is, the students
are so supportive of each other and create an
understanding, accepting community."
