The Delhi School of Communication[/b]

The Delhi School of Communication (DSC) is a 17 year old institute based at New Delhi. We believe that an institution be definition, is a creation of its environment. It makes its contribution in relation to the needs of society both for today and for our tomorrows.

In today’s environment, advances in electronic media have shrunk our world to Marshall McLuhan’s ‘Global Village’ In this environment India is fast emerging as one of the largest consumer societies in the world. As demands and aspirations for various goods multiply, so will the discerning ability of the Indian Consumer. This selectivity makes communication a critical factor.

The field of communication itself has seen tremendous progress in the last decade. The annual Advertising spend in India was estimated to reach Rs 12000 crores by 2011. Print and Broadcast Journalism is reaching a new degree of professionalism. Public Relations has become an integral activity for most corporate houses. Event Marketing has carved out a niche for itself. Media Marketing is a vibrant field. This translates into a very large number of professionals required to fill these exciting new positions.

This impetus triggered the creation of DSC and evolution of this comprehensive, full time 2 year Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Communication (PGDPC).
