The BOOK that inspired me

Blue Ocean Strategy is a fascinating book of just over 200 pages. It has interestingly used imagery to depict a strategy of creating uncontested market space and to make the competition irrelevant.

Players these days compete head-on as the markets are getting overcrowded. This usually results in a bloody “red ocean” of rivals competing for a finite market.

Thus, Blue Ocean Strategy advises the readers to stay away from red oceans and instead create pristine blue ones of uncharted waters by doing what the authors call “value innovation”.

The book has analysed success stories like Southwest Airlines, The Body Shop, Multiplex Movie Theaters, Canon and New York Police Department (NYPD) to drive the point home that this book is all about a bold new way of thinking to grasp the future. It is a strategy akin to what Sun Tzu who preached , “The best strategy in war is to win without having to fight.”

I found the book to be really inspiring and effective! Being a teenager is both wonderful and challenging.this book tries to put the energy of teenagers towards a right direction. In an entertaining style, Covey provides a step-by-step guide to help teens improve self-image, build friendships, resist peer pressure, achieve their goals, get along with their parents, and much more.
