The Human Resources event at Revelation 2017, the Flagship event of Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (SIBM), Bengaluru was called the Prime Cohort. The event was hosted on the Revelation Website as well as on Dare2Compete and received more than 60 registrations. The first round was an online quiz which comprised of basics of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. The shortlisted teams were invited for the on campus rounds that were held on the 21st and 22nd January 2017.
Students from several imminent colleges like IIM Trichy, IMI Delhi, Symbiosis Institute of International Business (SIIB) Pune, Christ College, BIM Trichy, XIME College Bangalore, Jain University and many more visited the SIBM Bengaluru Campus. The rounds were designed in a way that tested the application of practical HR knowledge in ways that were fun. Day 1 had 6 rounds that incorporated concepts like Learning and Development, Negotiation and Interviewing, Handling a work place stress situation. They were also tested on their HR conceptual knowledge. The first day had 2 judges, one who was an Alumni Ms. Nishu Dikshit, who is working as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte and Mr. V M Hombali, who had worked with Ashok Leyland for more than 25 years. The teams that were shortlisted for Day 2 had to work together as a team for a unique round called Wargasm. The final round was based on real life - a short case on the challenges faced by HR professionals in the current world on Employee Attrition and Employee Engagement which was judged by Mr. Sameer Nandan, the VP of Human Resources at Voonik.
The winners of the Prime Cohort were the students of Christ College followed by the students of IMI Delhi. They were felicitated during the awards ceremony at the close of Revelation 2017.
The event was a huge success and was unique in a way that tested their skills rather than just focus on theoretical knowledge. The rounds were thoroughly planned and they commended the effort on the rounds and their execution.
