Syndication For Moving Towards Zero Waste

Social Conclave, IIM Kozhikode -[/b] The Social Service Group, IIM Kozhikode will be organizing a social conclave on February 17th on the pressing issue of Waste Management. The conclave has an interesting line up of events including a panel discussion on 'Syndication for moving towards Zero Waste' and a waste management workshop for NSS students from in and around Calicut. The panel discussion will have experts from industry, academia, NGOs and the government discussing possible collaborative measures that could be undertaken to achieve zero waste in the environment. Some of the prominent speakers include Mr. Cyriac , Vice President , of Exnora ,an NGO based out of Chennai, and Dr. Ramaswamy , an expert in environmental sciences from MG University. Mr. Krishna Kumar KP, Social Development Officer, Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project will be throwing light on the government perspective in the whole issue. The workshop by Bangalore based firm Green Technologies promises to provide feasible solutions that can be easily implemented by students towards achieving zero waste in their respective colleges. The Social conclave, a first of its kind event at IIM Kozhikode aims to sensitize students about current social issues and would like to carry forward the tradition. As future corporate leaders and policy makers, it is important for the students to have understanding of such issues to aid in better decision making.
